ABOUT KBFA

EVERY PLAYER NEEDS SOMETHING DIFFERENT.

That's why we don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to football development. We create training environments around where players are now — and what they need to progress.

Players develop at different rates and need different challenges. That’s why we keep groups small, group players by development level and adapt our coaching to what each player needs — rather than simply their age.

OUR development approach

Our focus is developing players who are confident with the ball, technically capable and able to understand the game around them. We challenge players to recognise situations, make their own decisions and execute the right football actions under pressure — helping them understand not just how, but when, where and why to use them.

WHAT DOES OUR TRAINING LOOK LIKE?

01 — SMALL GROUPS

More opportunities for individual coaching and feedback.

02 — MORE TIME ON THE BALL

Sessions keep players involved and learning through repetition.

03 — DECISIONS UNDER PRESSURE

OUR STORY

I started KB Football Academy because I love coaching, but also because I believe we can continue to raise the standard of player development in Australian football.

I’ve always felt young players benefit most when coaches have the time to actually know them — how they play, what they’re good at, where they need help and when they need to be challenged. That idea has shaped a lot of what we do at KBFA, from keeping our groups small to creating different environments for players at different stages of their development.

As we’ve grown, I’ve also wanted to build a group of coaches who genuinely care about developing players. Our coaches bring their own experiences, personalities and areas of expertise, but we share the same responsibility to create purposeful sessions, give players meaningful feedback and keep improving the standard of coaching we provide.

We’re only one small part of the Australian football landscape, but we want KBFA to be an environment that contributes positively to it — developing more confident, intelligent and technically capable footballers, while continuing to raise our own standards as coaches.
